The General Staff reported 171 combat engagements over the past 24 hours
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that the 1,498th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.
Defence forces continue to repel attempts by Russian troops to improve their position and advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, inflicting losses on the enemy in terms of manpower and equipment. Over the past 24 hours, 171 combat engagements were recorded.
During this time, the enemy carried out 77 air strikes, dropped 226 guided bombs, deployed 9,636 kamikaze drones and fired 3,804 rounds at Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 106 from multiple launch rocket systems.
Air strikes were recorded, in particular, in the areas of Oleksandrivka in Donetsk Oblast, Gavrylivka and Pokrovsk in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, as well as in a number of settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, including Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipilske, Yegorivka, Dolynka, Kopani, Krynivka, Nove Pole, Mykilsk, Veselyanka, Novoolenivka and Hryhorivka.
The Air Force, missile forces and artillery of the Defence Forces struck six areas where enemy personnel and equipment were concentrated.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, 94 shelling incidents were recorded, including three involving multiple launch rocket systems, and one combat engagement.
In the Southern Slobozhanskyi sector, Russian forces made three attempts to breach defences in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory and in the direction of Okhrimivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, two attacks took place near Nova Kruhlyakivka and Novoosynove.
In the Lyman direction, six attacks were recorded in the directions of Drobysheve, Lyman, as well as in the areas of Serednye and Nadiya.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled six enemy attempts to advance in the areas of Zakitne, Riznykivka, and in the directions of Rai-Oleksandrivka, Platonivka and Kalenyky.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy made one attempt to improve its position in the direction of Kostyantynivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 20 attacks were recorded in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Ivanopil, Rusyno Yar, and in the directions of Illinivka, Sofiivka, Mykolaipil, Novopavlivka, Vilne and Kostiantynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defence Forces repelled 56 assaults in the areas of Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, Molodetske, Novyi Shakhovyi, Muravka, Horikove, and in the directions of Hryshyne, Filiia and Novooleksandrivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy carried out seven attacks in the areas of Oleksandrohrad, Zelenyi Hai, Novomykolaivka and in the directions of Pryvillia and Novozhorzhia.
In the Huliaipole sector, 17 attacks took place in the areas of Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Myrne, and in the directions of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Hirke, Huliaipole and Tsvitkove.
In the Orikhiv sector, no attempts to improve the situation were recorded.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, the enemy carried out one assault operation in the direction of Bilohrudyi Island.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of offensive groupings being formed have been detected.
Ukrainian troops continue to resist across all sections of the front.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces suffered 1,060 casualties. Two tanks, three armoured fighting vehicles, 59 artillery systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, 2,069 drones, 219 vehicles and two pieces of specialised equipment were also destroyed.
