Google has announced a $5 million grant to support the development of the ‘Obriy’ digital labour market ecosystem.

This was reported by the press office of the Ministry of Economy.

The partnership was announced as part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.

The ‘Obriy’ platform is being developed by the Ministry of Economy in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, with BRDO overseeing its implementation. The grant funds will be used to scale up the platform and expand its functionality: the development of skills assessment and career guidance services, automated matching of job vacancies and training programmes, the creation of digital user profiles, the introduction of e-recruitment, and tools for forecasting labour market needs.

Annette Krober, Google’s Vice President for Government Relations and Public Policy in Europe-Ril described the grant as an investment in Ukraine’s human potential, noting that the country is demonstrating to the world how technology and artificial intelligence can be used to build a resilient economy even under the most challenging circumstances.
