Alternative energy sources
In Ukraine, as part of the SvitloDIM government initiative, over 560 million UAH has been allocated to provide multi-storey residential buildings with alternative energy sources. The funds have been raised to purchase batteries and inverters, which enable the buildings to operate independently without incurring fuel costs.

This has been reported by the press office of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.

In total, the ministry received over 3,800 applications from representatives of the housing sector. A special commission reviewed almost all the documents, approving 2,228 projects.

Other applicants were rejected due to inaccuracies in their paperwork, but they are entitled to reapply once the issues have been rectified.

Eleven financial institutions are involved in implementing this programme, providing loans to owners’ associations, as well as housing and service co-operatives.

Co-owners of the properties most often use the funds received to purchase energy storage units, inverters and battery management systems.

Such technological solutions enable multi-occupancy buildings to maintain self-sufficient operations without the use of fuel or incurring additional fuel costs.

As a reminder, Oleksiy Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, previously explained what will happen to the energy sector after the war.
