How do the tariffs for heat supply differ in Ukrainian cities (infographic)
According to the law, during the period of martial law in Ukraine, a moratorium is in effect on the increase of tariffs for heating, gas, and hot water (however, it does not apply to electricity and cold water). Although prices for heating will not increase this year, the tariff in each region is calculated differently. This is reported by ThePublic.info citing the publication «Slovo i Dilo», which compared the tariffs for heat supply for the population in different cities of Ukraine.
According to calculations on the portal bankchart.com.ua, as well as data from local communal enterprises, the highest tariff for heat supply is set in Kherson – 2,002.2 UAH per Gcal. In second place is Zhytomyr – 1,964.3 UAH per Gcal, followed by Rivne – 1,913.2 UAH per Gcal. Next are Mykolaiv – 1,873.4 UAH per Gcal and the city of Odessa – 1,813.9 UAH per Gcal.
In Dnipro, the heat tariff is 1,741.3 UAH per Gcal, in Zaporizhzhia – 1,655.1 UAH per Gcal, and in the capital city Kyiv – 1,654.4 UAH per Gcal.
In Khmelnytskyi, the tariff for heat is 1,597.7 UAH per Gcal, in Sumy – 1,559.7 UAH per Gcal. The same heating tariff applies in the capital of Kharkiv and Lviv – 1,539.5 UAH per Gcal.
In Cherkasy, the tariff is set at 1,407.9 UAH per Gcal. Almost the same tariff applies in Chernihiv – 1,406.9 UAH per Gcal. For residents of Vinnytsia, the heat tariff is 1,314.1 UAH per Gcal.
Relatively lower tariffs for heat supply are in such cities: Ivano-Frankivsk – 1,285.1 UAH per Gcal, Poltava – 1,267.3 UAH per Gcal, and Chernivtsi – 1,204.6 UAH per Gcal, which is the lowest in Ukraine.
For some other Ukrainian cities, the heat tariff requires clarification. It should also be noted that tariffs may vary, as several cities have multiple suppliers.
It should be noted that since 2004, Uzhhorod, and subsequently the entire Zakarpattia region, have abandoned centralized heating and switched to individual heating.
