У Нью-Йорку заарештували російських руферів Анжелу Ніколау та Івана Біркуса (Кузнєцова), які залізли на вершину антени хмарочоса Емпайр-Стейт-Білдінг.

The Associated Press reports this.

Nicolaou and Birkus are known for the 2024 Netflix documentary *The Skywalkers: A Love Story*, which chronicles their romance and their extreme rooftop climbs whilst posing as construction workers.

On 1 July, dressed in black and wearing masks, they scaled the top of the 443-metre-tall Empire State Building. There, Birkus proposed to Nicolaou.

They also unfurled a banner reading ‘When the power of love conquers the love of power, the world will know peace’.

Officers from the emergency police unit were dispatched to intercept the Russians and detained both of them. The roof climbers were arrested on charges of burglary, reckless endangerment and other offences.

To this day, it remains unclear how they managed to climb the Empire State Building’s antenna. The building’s management stated that the incident was “unauthorised” but did not endanger anyone in the skyscraper.
