In violation of the ceasefire, US and Israeli forces launched an attack on the Lavan oil refinery on Lavan Island.

The Iranian state broadcaster Press TV has accused Washington of violating the ceasefire and reported an attack on an oil refinery on Lavan Island. According to these reports, efforts are underway to extinguish the fire and there are no casualties. There have also been reports of strikes on Sirri Island, where oil infrastructure is located.

“In violation of the ceasefire, US-Israeli forces struck the Lavan oil refinery on Lavan Island. Security services and firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fire and ensure safety in the area,” the channel reported.

In response, Iran launched missiles and drones at the UAE and Kuwait.

The United Arab Emirates stated that their air defence systems are repelling attacks by missiles and drones launched from Iran. The country’s Ministry of Defence noted that the explosions heard in various areas were linked to the interception of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.

Kuwait reported that its air defence forces were intercepting a wave of Iranian drones. According to the army, some of them were targeting oil facilities, power stations and desalination plants, causing significant damage to infrastructure. The Ministry of Defence noted that a total of 28 drones had been neutralised.

Bahrain also reported attacks. According to the Ministry of the Interior, two people sustained minor injuries in the Sitra area, and several houses were damaged by falling debris following the interception of a drone. Explosions were also heard in the capital, Manama. Smoke was rising in the Sitra area, where the country’s main energy facilities are located.

Earlier, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior reported that a fire at one of the facilities that had been struck had been brought under control.

Iran has not yet commented on the statements from the Gulf states.

Reports of the attacks emerged shortly after Donald Trump announced that an agreement had been reached between Washington and Tehran on a two-week ceasefire.

In recent weeks, countries in the region have been subjected to regular missile and drone strikes from Iran in response to US and Israeli actions that began on 28 February. The energy infrastructure of the Gulf states has come under attack, and the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant proportion of the world’s oil supplies passes, has effectively been blocked.

Israeli defence forces have now stated that they have carried out their largest strike on Lebanon to date. In 10 minutes, Israeli forces struck around 100 targets.
