This was reported by The Public with reference to European Truth.
The resolution entitled "On four years of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and Europe's contribution to a just peace and sustainable security for Ukraine" was adopted by the European Parliament on 24 February.
The document emphasises that Ukraine has an inherent right to self-defence in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. The European Parliament reaffirmed its conviction that Russia's aggression must be defeated and that Ukraine must win the war.
MEPs also noted that Russia, its leadership and allies, in particular the Belarusian regime, bear full responsibility for the war against Ukraine, war crimes and the crime of aggression. The resolution calls for them to be held accountable.
Separately, the European Parliament confirmed that Ukraine's future is linked to membership of the European Union. MEPs stressed that Ukraine's European integration is a strategic priority for the EU.
The resolution also calls on the European Union and its member states to prepare for future enlargement, in particular by carrying out internal reforms and formulating a clear strategy for the accession of new countries.
