Lubinec called on the government to lower the pass mark for the National Multidisciplinary Test to 130 marks
NMT
Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada’s Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman), has called on the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Education and Science to lower the pass mark for the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) from 150 to 130 marks.

He wrote about this in a Telegram post.

According to him, this year children sat the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) amidst air raid alerts, in shelters and during technical glitches. As a result, in June 2026, Lubinets received 21 complaints regarding problems during the NMT.

In this regard, Lubinets has already written a letter to the government and the Ministry of Education and Science, putting forward proposals, including lowering the pass mark, restoring the right to appeal after the exam, publishing the test papers and correct answers after the NMT, and making arrangements for the exam for children who are in places of detention.

It should be recalled that this year, during the NMT in the Odesa region, candidates were held at the examination centre for almost 13 hours due to prolonged air raid alerts. Lubinets received complaints regarding this matter.

The OECD has praised Ukraine’s anti-corruption system: what does a 100 per cent rating actually mean?

Ukraine received high marks in the OECD’s 2026 Review of Anti-Corruption and Integrity. However, a score of 100% does not mean that there is no corruption in the country: the OECD assesses, first and foremost, the quality of the rules, institutions and mechanisms for their implementation.
