Magnetic storm on 24 March: how intense will the geomagnetic activity be?
Magnetic storm
On Tuesday, 24 March, solar activity will decrease slightly, but the geomagnetic background will remain elevated. A magnetic storm with a K-index of 4 is expected, and isolated periods of mild storm activity are possible over the coming days.

This has been reported by Meteoagent and the British Geological Survey. A magnetic storm with a K-index

of 4 is expected on Earth on 24 March. Despite a slight decline in solar activity, the geomagnetic situation will remain elevated.

Experts attribute this to the fact that the solar wind speed remains high. They cite the ongoing influence of coronal holes, which is expected to persist for the next few days.

Against this backdrop, isolated active episodes of a minor storm are possible. The forecast indicates a probable G1 level.

At the same time, scientists note that the influence of coronal holes will gradually weaken over the course of the week. Therefore, the overall effect of solar activity should slowly decrease. It

is also emphasised that forecasts of magnetic storms may change. This is because researchers of solar activity update their data every three hours.
