Musk reported on the effect of measures against Russia`s use of Starlink
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said that measures taken by the company to stop Russia's unauthorised use of the Starlink satellite internet system have been successful. He announced this on social media in response to an appeal from Ukraine.
"It appears that the measures we have taken to stop Russia's unauthorised use of Starlink have been effective. Please let us know if additional measures are needed," Musk said.
This was his response to a post by Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, who had earlier thanked SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and Elon Musk for their prompt response to information about the Russian military's use of Starlink on strike drones.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, Russian troops have increasingly used American satellite communication systems on drones to bypass Ukrainian electronic warfare systems and increase the accuracy of their attacks. These facts were the basis for appeals to SpaceX to strengthen control over the use of the technology.
