Mobilization point at DVRZ: MP explained what the problem with the TCC is
A resonance has erupted in Kyiv around the draft mobilization point located on the territory of the Darnytskyi Wagon Repair Plant (DVRZ). Videos and photos have circulated on social media showing men, mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, being held in dilapidated premises without proper conditions.
Following a wave of criticism, the situation was commented on by People's Deputy Oleksandr Fediienko, who addressed the Ministry of Defense regarding this facility, reports thepublic.info.
According to the deputy, the Ministry of Defense, in response to his parliamentary inquiry, informed that this point has already been disbanded, and its functions have been redistributed among other structures. However, he noted, the final check has not yet been completed, and it is important to ensure that the practice of holding people in such conditions does not recur.
«I cannot yet definitively verify whether it has been closed or not. But at least in response to my parliamentary inquiry, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine told me that it has been disbanded and redistributed,» said the parliamentarian.
According to the deputy, the problem arose due to inefficient organization of the territorial recruitment centers' work in the first months after the adoption of the new mobilization law. Some TCCs did not have time to establish modern reception points and medical commissions, so conscripts were temporarily directed to old premises on the territories of former enterprises, including DVRZ.
Fediienko stated that conscripts were sent to this "collector," in particular, for undergoing military medical commissions.
«A Ukrainian citizen, a conscript, if at the first stage he ends up at such a distribution point – sorry, it’s like a barracks, but like some Soviet-era prison, – his first thought is about the Armed Forces of Ukraine, that such treatment exists in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,» noted the deputy.
He emphasized that the face of recruitment centers should change, and such points should be oriented towards the person.
«And the face of recruitment centers, such collection points, should be directly aimed at the conscripts to show that the army – it’s not only about war, but also about comfort.»
