Former MP Ihor Mosiychuk has claimed that Kostyantyn Shabunyaev, who is said to be a candidate for the post of director of JSC ‘Odesa Port Plant’, may be linked to an attempt to take over LLC ‘Pensionat “Karpatski Zori”’. According to him, the owners’ family was allegedly offered a deal to relinquish the asset.

Ihor Mosiychuk announced this on his Telegram channel.

Former MP Ihor Mosiychuk has spoken of the possible role of Kostyantyn Shabunyaev in the case surrounding the limited liability company “Pansionat ‘Karpatski Zori’”.

According to him, Shabunyaev, who is said to be a candidate for the post of director of JSC “Odesa Port Plant”, may be behind the attempt to seize this asset.

Mosiychuk claims that the “Karpatski Zori” holiday resort was built on land belonging to private individuals – the married couple Andriy and Olga Nikolyuk.

At the same time, according to his information, the property has long been linked to the Odesa Port Plant.

The former MP stated that the OPA had invested over $90 million in the project. According to him, the plant’s management, in particular a member of the board and the OPA’s director of personnel and social affairs, Konstantin Shabunyaev, visited the holiday resort on numerous occasions.

In his post, Mosiychuk cited documents which he describes as OPZ orders authorising Shabunyaev’s business trips to the “Karpatski Zori” holiday resort, as well as an accommodation bill.

What Mosiychuk said

According to Mosiychuk, following another visit to the holiday resort by representatives of the plant’s management, the Nikolyuk family began receiving offers to sell the asset.

The former MP claims that initially, last autumn, Andriy Nikolyuk was offered to sell the asset for “a relatively symbolic sum”.

After they refused, according to Mosiychuk, such “offers” became systematic.

He stated that “guests” visited the family, who allegedly escalated the situation and said that the Nikolyuks would lose the asset anyway, as these people had the means to exert influence.

Mosiychuk also published audio recordings on his Telegram channel which, he claims, relate to this story.

Why is Shabunyaev mentioned in the case?

According to Mosiychuk, Konstantin Shabunyaev himself may have been present at one of the meetings of the group of people who were persuading the Nikolukys to give up the guesthouse.

The former MP stated that, according to the information he has, it is on Shabunyaev’s initiative that the process of persuading the owners to transfer ‘Karpatski Zori’ to other individuals may be taking place.

Mosiychuk also links this story to the possible appointment of Shabunyaev as director of the Odesa Port Plant.

According to him, Shabunyaev could be appointed to this post no later than 19 May.

After that, Mosiychuk claims, he is to prepare the Odessa Port Plant for an auction scheduled to take place in July or August this year.

The former MP suggests that “Karpatski Zori” and the OPP may have certain links, which Shabunyaev is allegedly trying to exploit until the plant passes to a new owner following the auction.

There is no official response from Konstantin Shabunyaev, the Odesa Port Plant or the Nikolyuk family in this report.
