NABU and SAP initiated an international search for Mindich and Zuckerman, who are involved in the Midas case.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have sent a package of documents to Interpol to issue a wanted notice for businessmen Timur Mindich and Alexander Zuckerman. This was announced by the head of the SAP, Alexander Klymenko, in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to him, the formal submission has already been made, but there is no information about the public so-called red card yet. The SAP explains that the procedure may include a non-public stage when the search is actually already in effect, but the data is not displayed on the Interpol website.
Mindich and Zuckerman are figures in the NABU special operation "Midas," which became known on 10 November. The investigation believes that the members of the organised group built a large-scale corruption scheme to influence strategic enterprises in the public sector, in particular Energoatom. As part of the investigation, law enforcement officials reported seven suspects, five of whom were detained.
The suspects also include a former advisor to the Minister of Energy, the executive director of physical protection and security at Energoatom, and representatives of the so-called back office for the legalisation of funds. According to the investigation, Mindich and Zuckerman left Ukraine before the active phase of the investigation began.
On 13 November, the President of Ukraine enacted the NSDC's decision to impose personal sanctions on both businessmen. Anti-corruption authorities emphasise that an international search is the next step in bringing the suspects to justice.
