The Netherlands will send an additional €700 million in aid to Ukraine in 2026
The Dutch government has managed to mobilize an additional €700 million aid package for Ukraine, taking funds from unused budget reserves of the ministries of defense and foreign affairs. This was reported by The Public with reference to The Guardian.
This decision is part of a broader policy of support for Kyiv — the country has already committed to allocating around €3.5 billion annually to aid Ukraine. The new amount will be directed primarily toward military needs: modernization, armaments, strengthening air defense systems, and, possibly, the purchase of drones.
Brussels and Kyiv welcomed the decision as an important signal of European solidarity. The Dutch government emphasizes that it is ready to continue providing stable support to Ukraine, even despite global economic instability.
For Ukraine, this means strengthening its defense capabilities in 2026, especially during the winter period, when the threat of attacks and destruction of critical infrastructure remains high.
