Olga Kharlan and Luigi Samele have become parents for the first time
The couple announced the news on Instagram.
The baby girl was born on 14 June. Olga Kharlan and Luigi Samele have named their daughter Arianna.
In a joint post, the athletes shared a photo of themselves holding the newborn’s hand.
“Mum and Dad love you more than anything,” wrote the parents.
What is known about the couple
Olga Kharlan and Luigi Samele are both professional fencers.
Kharlan is a Ukrainian sabre fencer, an Olympic champion and a multiple Olympic medallist.
Samele is an Italian sabre fencer and an Olympic medallist as part of the Italian national team.
When Harlan announced her pregnancy
Olga Kharlan announced her pregnancy in February 2026.
In March, the athlete and Luigi Samele announced that they were expecting a baby girl.
The couple have been engaged since September 2024, but have not officially announced their wedding.
Olga Kharlan is one of Ukraine’s most decorated athletes.
She has won Olympic medals in sabre fencing and has represented Ukraine at international competitions for many years.
