The NBU is set to issue a redesigned 100-hryvnia banknote featuring a patriotic slogan
This was announced by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The main change will be the addition of the inscription “GLORY TO UKRAINE! GLORY TO THE HEROES!” on the reverse side of the 100-hryvnia banknote.
The slogan will be placed in the top right-hand corner of the note.
Other design and security features will remain unchanged and will correspond to the 2014 series of banknotes.
When will the new banknotes enter circulation?
The distribution of the updated banknotes will begin on 16 June through banks, cash-in-transit companies and cash-handling firms.
The notes will then gradually enter circulation throughout the country.
Do you need to exchange old banknotes
The NBU has emphasised that there is no need to specifically exchange banknotes from previous years.
They will remain legal tender and will be used alongside the updated banknotes.
What the National Bank says
The regulator noted that the issue of the modified 100-hryvnia banknote completes the renewal of the entire series of national currency banknotes.
The National Bank began this process in August 2024 ahead of the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
In February 2026, the NBU completed the withdrawal from circulation of 1, 2, 5 and 10 hryvnia banknotes from the 2003–2007 series.
From 2 March 2026, they ceased to be legal tender and were finally replaced by the corresponding coins.
