Yevhenii Solovei, a cameraman for the TSN news programme, was killed at the front; he had volunteered for military service in 2022 and served as a drone pilot.

This was announced by 1+1 Media.

Solovei died on 27 March — the company described his death as “an irreparable loss for us all”.

Before volunteering to go to war, he worked for many years as a cameraman for the 1+1 channel and filmed in the combat zone alongside war correspondents.

“Zhenya was truly a bright and great person. He was always smiling, supporting others and, even in the most difficult moments, finding words that gave strength. Colleagues remember him as reliable, sincere and very humane — someone who always made those around him feel more at ease,” say representatives of 1+1 Media.

As of June 2025, according to the Institute of Mass Information (IMI), 113 media workers have been killed in Ukraine since 2014 as a result of Russian aggression. Of these, 106 have died since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
