Retiree from Poltava region ordered the murder of her daughter's lover
This is reported by ThePublic.info citing the publication «Poltava Wave».
The woman's daughter, being in an official marriage, started dating her lover. Her legal husband was abroad working at that time. The mother was against the new relationship and urged her daughter to return to her husband. After a quarrel, the daughter moved in with her lover.
Then the 71-year-old pensioner decided to order her husband's murder. She began searching for executors and in August 2023 found a man to whom she disclosed her intentions. However, he, not wishing anyone's death, contacted the police.
Subsequently, law enforcement acted undercover. They organized a meeting between the woman and two "hitmen," who were actually undercover agents. During the conversation, the pensioner was willing to pay $1500 for the job and handed over a deposit of $200. She also sent photographs of the victim and her address.
After a few days, the "hitmen" informed the client that they had completed the job and showed a staged murder photo as proof. The woman believed them and transferred $1300. Immediately after the money was handed over, she was detained.
At the trial, the accused did not admit her guilt. She claimed she only asked to beat her husband, not kill him, and that it was a provocation. However, the court dismissed these arguments. The woman was found guilty of attempted premeditated murder for hire. The court sentenced her to 10 years in prison.
