After participating in the Munich Security Conference, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will make a working visit to Slovakia and Hungary, where he will discuss regional security, energy and NATO cooperation.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will participate in the 62nd Munich Security Conference, which will be held in Germany from 13 to 15 February, after which he will make working visits to Slovakia and Hungary. This was reported by the US State Department.

The trip to Bratislava and Budapest is scheduled for 15–16 February. In Slovakia, Rubio will meet with the country's government leaders. The main topics of discussion will be common regional interests in the field of security, strengthening bilateral cooperation in nuclear energy, diversifying energy supplies, as well as supporting the modernisation of the Slovak army and fulfilling the country's obligations within NATO.

In Budapest, the US Secretary of State will meet with leading Hungarian officials. The parties plan to discuss bilateral and regional security issues, commitment to peaceful processes for resolving global conflicts, and the development of an energy partnership between the US and Hungary.

The State Department emphasises that Rubio's trip aims to strengthen cooperation with allies in Central Europe against the backdrop of current security challenges and the need to strengthen the region's energy stability.
