Poland is replacing Ukrainian workers with migrants from Asia and Latin America
This is reported by the Polish publication WNP.pl.
According to the publication, some Ukrainians are returning home, whilst others are moving to Western European countries, where higher wages and better employment conditions are on offer.
Michał Sołecki, CEO of Worksol Group, stated that staff shortages are increasingly being filled by workers from South America and Asia.
There are currently around 30,000 citizens of Colombia and the Philippines working in Poland. The number of workers from Nepal and India is also growing.
In total, the number of foreigners in the Polish labour market has exceeded 1.17 million, which is almost six times more than ten years ago.
Despite a decline in numbers, Ukrainians continue to constitute the largest group among foreign workers in Poland. They account for 67% of the total.
According to a study by SW Research, the largest number of foreign workers are employed in industry, transport, logistics, warehousing and administrative services.
The average salary for Ukrainian workers in Poland is €973 per month. By comparison, the average salary for Polish citizens is €1,227.
According to the study, around 80% of Ukrainians in Poland are in employment and pay taxes and social security contributions.
This figure is significantly higher than in Germany, where around 25% of Ukrainians are employed, or in the Czech Republic, where 48% of Ukrainian citizens have jobs.
