More than half of Ukrainians with internet access use artificial intelligence
The most popular AI tools in Ukraine are ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot.

Rakuten Viber surveyed Ukrainians regarding the use of artificial intelligence: specifically, which chatbots and tools they use, informs ThePublic.info. The survey of six thousand people showed that only 25% do this regularly.

Answers to the question "Do you use any AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Midjourney, or others?" were distributed as follows:

  • Yes, but not often — 33%;
  • Yes, regularly — 25%;
  • I have never used AI tools — 21%;
  • I don't know what it is — 12%;
  • I tried AI tools but do not use them — 9%.

As for the AI tools used by Ukrainians, the most popular was ChatGPT from OpenAI. Next is Gemini from Google. All other tools have less popularity:

  • ChatGPT — 85%;
  • Google Gemini — 64%;
  • Microsoft Copilot — 20%;
  • Midjourney — 11%;
  • Claude — 8%;
  • Other — 8%;
  • DALL-E — 7%;
  • Perplexity AI — 5%;
  • None — 3%.

Rakuten Viber also asked Ukrainians who do not use artificial intelligence what stops them from working with AI tools. Respondents who tried AI tools but do not use them answered as follows:

  • I am concerned about data privacy or security — 31%;
  • The results obtained were not very useful — 30%;
  • I do not trust the information they provide — 29%;
  • I do not know how it works — 16%;
  • It was difficult to use — 11%;
  • They did not answer my questions — 11%;
  • Other — 13%.

Ukrainians who have never used AI tools explain their decision as follows:

  • I'm fine as I am — 43%;
  • I didn't have the opportunity — 25%;
  • I am not sure what I would use them for — 23%;
  • I don't know how it works — 17%;
  • I don't want to pay — 16%;
  • I don't know what tools are available or where to find them — 14%;
  • I don't know how to register — 5%;
  • Other — 4%.

Viber also asked what specific purposes Ukrainians use artificial intelligence for. Most often, it is for information search. Work and study are involved in less than half of the cases:

  • For information search — 81%;
  • For work — 37%;
  • For study — 35%;
  • For ideas and inspiration — 31%;
  • For medical advice — 27%;
  • For entertainment — 24%;
  • For understanding an object from a photo — 22%;
  • For writing emails and long messages — 18%;
  • Other — 5%.
