Sowing season 2026: nearly one million hectares of cereals have been sown in Ukraine
This is reported on the Latifundist website, citing the Ministry of Economy.
According to the ministry, 17% of the projected area has now been sown.
The highest figures were recorded for:
- peas – 209,800 (76%);
- oats – 100,300 (73%);
- barley – 528,700 (70%);
- spring wheat – 128,500 (69%).
Meanwhile, the agricultural sector has begun work on industrial crops and maize.
68,600 hectares have already been allocated for sugar beet, which accounts for over a third of the plan. Sowing of sunflowers and soya is in its initial stages. Maize sowing has so far only started in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Overall, the campaign is progressing according to schedule, covering key cereal and industrial crop groups to ensure food security.
