The President imposed NSDC sanctions against 225 captains of the Russian Federation's shadow fleet
This was reported by The Public with reference to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
According to the information, the restrictions apply to captains who commanded tankers of Russia's shadow fleet and transported petroleum products in circumvention of international sanctions imposed by the European Union, the G7 countries, and other partners of Ukraine.
The Office of the President noted that most of these vessels — 188 tankers — are already under sanctions imposed by Western countries. Ukraine also plans to provide its allies with additional information on the activities of the Russian shadow fleet in order to coordinate and strengthen sanctions pressure.
Sanctions have also been imposed on citizens of 11 countries, including Russia, India and the Philippines.
In addition, restrictions have been imposed on 46 Russian citizens, two Iranian citizens and 44 Russian companies associated with the Russian military-industrial complex.
According to the Office of the President, these companies are involved in the supply, development, production and repair of military equipment, electronic warfare equipment and components. Their products are used in the production of ballistic and cruise missiles, drones, small arms and ammunition.
It is separately noted that two Iranian citizens are involved in the supply of aviation components in circumvention of sanctions. These supplies were made in the interests of the Iranian Aviation Industry Corporation, which cooperates with Russia in the development and production of Shahed drones and is already under sanctions from Ukraine, the United States, Switzerland and New Zealand.
