Serhiy Koretskyi, a candidate for the post of Prime Minister, took part in a meeting of the ‘Servant of the People’ parliamentary group. At the meeting with MPs, he outlined his vision for the government’s work and structure.

This was announced by Davyd Arakhamia, leader of the ‘Servant of the People’ parliamentary group in the Verkhovna Rada.

According to Arakhamia, Koretskyi cited support for the people, preparations for the heating season, strengthening the Defence Forces and protecting infrastructure as among the government’s priorities.

He added that Koretskyy has significant experience in the corporate and public sectors, and has “proved himself at Ukrnafta and Naftogaz”.

“During the last heating season, gas was, in fact, the only energy resource that was consistently supplied to consumers despite attacks on production and storage facilities. We consider such experience to be extremely valuable, especially now that Ukraine is preparing for what is likely to be the harshest winter in our history,” wrote the faction leader.

It is worth noting that Koretskyi is considered the leading candidate for the post of Ukraine’s new prime minister. On 12 July, President Zelenskyy met with Koretskyi and thanked him “for his effective work at the helm of Ukraine’s strategic state-owned companies — ‘Ukrnafta’ and ‘Naftogaz’”.

“There are now new challenges due to Russian attacks, particularly on energy infrastructure in border and frontline regions, as well as attacks on petrol stations and other facilities. Today we discussed what steps our country needs to take to make Ukraine more resilient and to ensure the desired results within the framework of our country’s updated political strategy,” Zelenskyy wrote at the time.
