Missile attack on Kharkiv on 2 January: emergency rescue operations completed
In Kharkiv, emergency rescue and search operations have been completed at the site of the explosions that occurred on 2 January in the city centre. This was announced by Mayor Igor Terekhov.
According to him, seven people were killed in the missile strike, including a three-year-old child. Thirty-eight people were injured, including two children. During the rescue operation, 12 people were rescued from the rubble.
The mayor thanked all the services and specialists involved in the response to the attack. In particular, he noted the work of rescuers, utilities, doctors, law enforcement officers and volunteers who conducted search operations, dismantled the rubble and removed the debris from the destroyed buildings.
As a reminder, the explosions in Kharkiv took place on 2 January at around 14:30. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the city. As a result of the attack, a four-storey residential building partially collapsed and a shopping centre, which was not operating at the time of the attack, was destroyed.
