Road repairs in Ukraine: completion dates announced
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
Deadlines: When will the roads be ready?
The Government’s task is to ensure the fastest possible restoration of logistics. Currently, over 200 teams are working daily. A clear schedule has been set:
-
By 1 May — roads of international importance must be fully repaired;
-
By 1 June — completion of work on roads of national importance.
Repairs within a 40-kilometre zone from the front line
Particular attention is being paid to frontline regions. Work has begun on sections located within a 40-kilometre zone from the line of contact.
These routes are critical for defence, which is why the State Special Transport Service is responsible for their restoration. Priorities are determined by the military leadership based on the security situation.
Why is this pace so important right now?
Roads are not just asphalt, but the ‘arteries’ of the country, on which the following depend:
-
Military logistics: rapid supply to the front line.
-
The economy: the ability of businesses to deliver goods.
-
Community life: the functioning of humanitarian corridors and evacuation routes.
