A $28 million blow: border guards destroyed Russian equipment near Huliaipole

Ukrainian border guards destroyed Russian military equipment worth $28 million in the Huliaipole area. Among the targets hit was a rare "Zoo" radar system.

This has been reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

According to border guards, on the night of 4–5 April in Zaporizhzhia, pilots from the ‘Phoenix’ unit detected and destroyed three multiple launch rocket systems. Specifically, two ‘Grad’ systems and one ‘Uragan’ system were destroyed.

In addition to the rocket artillery, the border service’s elite unit destroyed the high-value “Zoo” radar system. The total value of the destroyed weaponry amounts to approximately $28 million.

“And this is in addition to the usual routine targets that the unit’s border guards destroy around the clock,” the agency emphasised.

The destruction of the "Zoo" radar system is a significant success for Ukrainian defenders, as this equipment is extremely rare among the occupying forces.

According to border guards, the "Zoo" radar is an extremely rare target for the Defence Forces. In total, up to 15 units of such equipment have been destroyed during the full-scale invasion.
