Russia launched attacks overnight on the Sumy and Kharkiv regions and southern Ukraine; there are fatalities and injuries

On the night of 19 June, Russian troops launched attacks on several regions of Ukraine. The Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under fire.

On the night of 19 June, Russian troops continued their attacks on Ukrainian regions, using drones, guided aerial bombs and artillery.

Sumy Oblast

In the Kovpakivka district of Sumy, a Russian ‘Molniya’ drone struck the service floor of a multi-storey building. The strike damaged the roof and the service floor. There are no reports of casualties at this stage.

Kharkiv Oblast

Russian forces launched a strike using guided aerial bombs on the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv.

Initial reports indicated damage to around 15 private homes and a warehouse. The number of damaged buildings subsequently rose to over 40.

As of this morning, the number of casualties had risen to nine, including four children. According to local authorities, two 11-year-old girls and a 14-year-old boy among the casualties suffered acute stress reactions. A fire broke out at the site of the strike, and clean-up operations are ongoing.

Zaporizhzhia region

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out 950 strikes on 53 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Four people were injured as a result of attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district. There were also 60 reports of damage to homes, vehicles and infrastructure.

Two people were injured as a result of a Russian strike on one of Zaporizhzhia’s districts; they are receiving medical treatment. The strike caused a fire at a petrol station, with the building and equipment catching fire. Emergency services extinguished the fire, which covered an area of 15 square metres. Twenty emergency personnel and four vehicles from the State Emergency Service were deployed to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Since the evening, Russian troops have been attacking three districts of the region with artillery and drones.

In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovka, Myrivka and Marganets were hit. A business, a post office, private homes and a car were damaged.

In the Synelnykivskyi district, the Dubovykivska and Vasylkivska communities were hit. A sports school and a disused building were damaged there.

In Pavlohrad, private homes caught fire.

Kherson region

Over the past 24 hours, one person was killed and nine others were injured as a result of Russian strikes in the Kherson region.

Dozens of settlements in the region came under drone attacks and artillery shelling, including Kherson, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Beryslav and Stanislav.

In the region, a multi-storey building, 17 private homes, a gas pipeline, agricultural machinery, a warehouse and private cars were damaged.

Mykolaiv Oblast

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have attacked the region with various types of drones. Energy infrastructure was targeted.

In the Bashtanka district, the Snigurivka community was attacked twice by ‘Molniya’-type drones. A petrol station in Snigurivka was damaged.

In the Mykolaiv district, Russian troops attacked the Ochakiv community seven times using FPV drones. Strikes by ‘Molniya’ and ‘Lancet’ drones were also recorded in the Ochakiv, Koblivka and Kutsurub communities.

A 37-year-old man was killed in the village of Tuzly as a result of one of the strikes. A lorry was also destroyed.

In Ochakiv, two cars and a petrol station were damaged.
