The SSU attacked an oil depot in the Krasnodar region with drones (VIDEO)
On Thursday, 12 March, in the Tikhoretsky District of the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, a fire broke out at an oil depot following a drone attack.
The total area of the fire is 150 square metres. No casualties have been reported.
Residents of Tikhoretsk reported numerous explosions and a subsequent fire in the city. The published video footage shows two sources of ignition.
According to Astra's analysis, the footage shows open flames in front of a large tank, with thick smoke rising in the background. It is likely that fuel tanks caught fire.
Initially, it was reported that a facility belonging to the Tikhoreck-Nafta company was on fire, but it was later clarified that it was an oil industrial cluster comprising several enterprises.
The head of the Tikhoretsk district later reported that during the drone attack in Tikhoretsk, a fire broke out at an oil refinery. Emergency services are working at the scene.
Eighty-three people and 26 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.
The Tikhoretsk oil hub is one of the largest oil transshipment points in southern Russia. It is located in the Krasnodar Krai and is connected to the oil transportation system infrastructure.
