Trump is shown videos of the biggest US strikes against Iran every day — media reports
This is reported by NBC News, citing three current and one former US official.
According to the officials, the video is not the only briefing Trump receives on the war. He also receives up-to-date information through conversations with top military and intelligence advisers, foreign leaders and news reports.
But three sources said the video briefings are fuelling concerns among some of Trump’s allies that he may not be getting (or grasping) the full picture of the war. They said these videos are also causing Trump to become increasingly frustrated with the media’s coverage of the war. He points to the successes shown to him in the videos and asks why his administration cannot better influence the public narrative and why the media does not emphasise what he sees.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt dismissed the suggestion that Trump is not receiving information on the full spectrum of events in the war, both successes and failures. Defence Department Chief Spokesperson Sean Parnell stated that Operation ‘Epic Fury’ had been a resounding success and that US troops had accomplished every task assigned to them.
One source said that although discussions of sensitive military operations are restricted to a smaller group, Trump continues to seek a broad range of views and encourages every participant to speak frankly. The official added that Trump frequently takes calls from a wide range of external advisers, regularly listening to their views and taking an interest in their perspective on public opinion.
