The US State Department has declared the Western Hemisphere a zone of US influence. Washington has stressed its readiness to respond harshly to security threats in the region.

The United States Department of State has declared that the Western Hemisphere is a zone of US influence. The relevant post was published on the social network X, emphasising that President Donald Trump will not allow any forces to threaten American security.

The administration's position was confirmed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, commenting on US policy after the special operation in Venezuela. According to him, Washington seeks to prevent the region from becoming a haven for drug traffickers, Iranian proxies or regimes that pose a threat to national security. Rubio said that the period of weakness is over, and the United States is ready to use all available tools to eliminate threats in its region.

The State Department emphasised that the Western Hemisphere is a space of vital US interests, where it will not allow the strengthening of competitors and adversaries.
