“Star Factory” is back: who will host the new series?
The SWEET.TV platform has announced the relaunch of “Star Factory”.
The music project “Star Factory” is being relaunched in Ukraine. The new season will be released on the SWEET.TV streaming platform, and the show’s main mentor will be director and producer Alan Badoev.
The organisers state that the revamped “Star Factory” will not simply be a return to the television format of years gone by. They aim to transform the project into a modern music academy for a new generation of artists.
Who will head the new “Star Factory”
Alan Badoev will be the head mentor for the new season.
Vladimir Zavaduk, Head of SWEET.TV Originals, noted that the choice of Badoev is symbolic, as 15 years ago the director was already working on staging performances for “Star Factory” contestants.
He will now accompany the young artists from their first days of training right through to the final performances.
What will the new format of the show be like?
According to the organisers, the revamped “Star Factory” is set to move away from the classic television format.
Contestants are promised not only airtime but also work with digital tools, promotion of their own brand and the creation of a music product that can compete in the modern market.
The project team plans to involve Ukrainian choreographers, stylists, songwriters and producers.
What Alan Badoev said
Alan Badoev stated that the new season will not be built on nostalgia for the old “Star Factory”.
According to him, the team wants to create a show about the emergence of self-made artists of a new era. Participants are to be given the tools for development, not just the opportunity to perform on stage.
Badoev also noted that during the auditions he will be looking not for artificial shock value, but for sincerity, individuality and musical talent.
Who they will be looking for at the auditions
The main criteria for participants will be having their own voice, artistic flair and a willingness to work on themselves.
The project aims to discover new talent for the Ukrainian music industry and expand the scope of contemporary Ukrainian-language music.
According to the creators’ vision, the show is intended to be not just an entertainment programme, but also a platform for launching the careers of young performers.
Where to find out more
The organisers have announced an open meeting with the project team for potential participants.
It is set to take place on 14 June at the ‘Kurazh’ festival in Kyiv. The meeting will be attended by the show’s head mentor, Alan Badoev, and creative producer Volodymyr Zavaduk.
Visitors will be told about the selection criteria, launching a music career and behind-the-scenes details of the creation of the revamped “Star Factory”. The first official promo video for the new season is also set to be unveiled there.
