Electricity prices remain unchanged: the government has left the tariff at 4.32 UAH
The decision is recorded in a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers and announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Cabinet resolution states that the current tariff of 4.32 UAH per kWh will remain in effect until at least 30 April 2026.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stressed that raising electricity prices in a situation where consumers are effectively receiving less than the full service due to supply disruptions would be unfair.
She also stressed that the state will compensate for the difference between the market value of electricity and the established tariff within the framework of the PSO mechanism in order to maintain the accessibility of the service for the population.
Benefits for certain categories
Special conditions continue to apply to some households:
— 2.64 UAH per kWh for households with electric heating within the limit of 2,000 kWh per month;
— 2.16 UAH per kWh at night for owners of two-zone meters.
These mechanisms allow certain consumers to significantly reduce their costs.
Is a tariff review possible?
The National Bank warns that utility tariffs may be revised after the end of the heating season. One of the reasons cited is the need to finance the restoration of the power system after massive attacks.
At the same time, the regulator emphasises that even if there is an increase, the decision must be phased and gradual in order to avoid a sharp social burden.
Currently, Ukrainians continue to pay for electricity at a fixed price. The government assures that changes in tariff policy will be made taking into account the state of the power system and the population's solvency.
