Tyson Fury has turned down Wardle and wants another fight with Usyk
Sport.ua reports on Fabio Wardley’s proposal, whilst a video on Turki Al-Sheikh’s X account confirms Tyson Fury’s statement regarding a trilogy with Oleksandr Usyk.
Former world champion Tyson Fury has once again found himself at the centre of two boxing stories.
WBO heavyweight world champion Fabio Wardley has stated that he offered Fury a title fight in April.
According to Wardle, he made an open offer to the Brit and was ready to step into the ring with him.
“I made Fury an open offer and said: ‘Listen, if you want this fight, I’m here. Give me a call, just let me know. It’s no problem for me – if you want to fight in April, I’m ready,’” Wardle said.
However, Fury chose a different fight. On 11 April in London, he faced Arslanbek Makhmudov.
Fabio Wardley himself is due to fight his next bout on 9 May in Manchester against former world champion Daniel Dubois.
Fury speaks out again about Usyk
Following his return to the ring, Tyson Fury approached Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, regarding a potential trilogy with Oleksandr Usyk.
A video of the Briton’s remarks appeared on Turki’s account on social media platform X.
Fury stated that he wants a rematch with Usyk after his fight against Anthony Joshua. In his usual brash style, he called the Ukrainian “Rabbit” and promised to return for a third bout.
“I want a rematch with the Rabbit. I want it in London, Las Vegas or New York, baby! I promise you, Rabbit, you’ll get yours,” said Fury.
The Briton also stated that he first wants to fight Anthony Joshua, and only then return to the idea of a third bout with Usyk.
Fury added that, in his opinion, it is a fight with him that could bring Usyk the biggest purse. He claimed that neither Cabayel, nor Dubois, nor Joshua would offer the Ukrainian such money.
The Briton proposed holding the trilogy in London, New York or Las Vegas.
What happened before
Tyson Fury lost to Oleksandr Usyk by decision twice in a row.
The first fight took place on 18 May 2024, the second on 21 December 2024. It was Usyk who inflicted Fury’s first defeats in the professional ring.
Following these defeats, the Briton once again announced his retirement.
In April 2026, Fury returned to the ring and defeated the Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov.
Earlier, Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin had expressed his opinion on a possible third fight between Usyk and Fury.
