Montreal v Inter Miami: MLS match result
This is according to Sport.ua.
The only goal was scored after the break
The match in Montreal remained goalless for a long time. In the 80th minute, the referee awarded a penalty following a collision between the heads of the home side’s defender Efrain Morales and Inter Miami striker Herman Berterame.
Luis Suárez took the spot-kick, beating the goalkeeper with a ‘Panenka’-style chip. After the goal, the Uruguayan lifted Berterame’s shirt, dedicating the goal to him. The forward was injured and left the pitch in an ambulance.
How the Ukrainian performed
Ukrainian winger Hennadiy Synchuk played the entire match for Montreal. During the match, he had two shots on target, one off target, and completed 15 out of 19 successful passes. Furthermore, the Ukrainian had an opportunity to score but failed to capitalise on it.
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro made his debut for Inter Miami, starting the match and playing the full 90 minutes.
Lionel Messi missed his second consecutive MLS match. Since the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, the Argentine has yet to return to club action. Following this victory, Inter Miami have 37 points and sit second in the Eastern Conference. Montreal, on 15 points, remain in 13th place.
