The death toll from the massive attack on Kyiv has risen to 18, with more than 90 people injured
The death toll in Kyiv following the Russian large-scale combined attack has risen to 18.
According to the latest information, the number of people injured has exceeded 90. Among them are two children. Details regarding the consequences of the attack are still being clarified.
3 July has been declared a Day of Mourning in the capital for the victims of the Russian Federation’s most massive attack on the city. In memory of the deceased, flags will be flown at half-mast on all municipal buildings in Kyiv. It is also recommended that national flags be flown at half-mast on both state-owned and privately-owned buildings.
Furthermore, all entertainment events are banned in Kyiv on 3 July.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko has reported that the search and rescue operation at the damaged building in the Darnytskyi district is ongoing. Rescue workers are continuing to clear the rubble and search for people.
Emergency rescue work is ongoing at the sites of the strikes. All necessary services are involved in dealing with the aftermath, and volunteers are also assisting.
Operational headquarters have been set up in the capital to provide assistance to affected residents, said Timur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
