In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone attack has destroyed the warehouse and office premises of a branch of the ‘Yuvileiny’ meat processing plant. The company is temporarily suspending operations.

The Russian Federation’s army launched a drone attack on the buildings of the Zaporizhzhia branch of the ‘Yuvileiny’ meat processing plant. As a result of the strike, the plant sustained significant damage and has temporarily suspended operations.

Maksym Rak, head of the Zaporizhzhia branch of the meat processing plant, reported that the attack took place on the evening of 1 July at around 7.30 pm.

According to him, there were no employees on the premises at the time of the strike. The day shift had already finished work, and the night shift had not yet started. Only security staff were on site, and they were unharmed.

As a result of the attack, the office premises were destroyed by fire, and the warehouse buildings were also damaged.

Units from the State Emergency Service arrived at the scene promptly. It took until morning to bring the fire under control, as it reignited.

The company is currently clearing the rubble. Due to the consequences of the strike, the company is suspending operations for the time being.

Earlier, the State Emergency Service reported that a drone attack on Zaporizhzhia had caused fires to break out in storage facilities at two locations. The fires covered areas of 200 and 300 square metres.

According to preliminary data, there were no fatalities or injuries. All the city’s emergency services were working at the scenes.
