The death toll in Kyiv following the Russian strike has risen to 19
The death toll in Kyiv following the massive Russian attack on the night of 6 July has risen to 19. In the Darnytskyi district, rescue workers have recovered another body from the rubble.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, search and rescue operations in the capital continued throughout the night. In total, 19 people were killed and a further 58 injured as a result of the Russian attack, including seven children.
In the Podilskyi district, the deaths of eight people have been confirmed. Search and rescue operations are continuing at the site of the strike.
In the Darnytskyi district, the search and rescue operation has been completed. Eleven people were killed there. Rescuers cleared away and removed 300 cubic metres of building debris and rubble. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service provided support to 77 people.
A total of 183 rescue workers and 99 units of State Emergency Service equipment were deployed to deal with the aftermath in the Darnytskyi district. Emergency restoration work is currently underway at the site.
On the night of 6 July, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region using missiles and drones.
