The explosions in Volgograd on 27 June: what is known about the attack on the ‘Titan-Barikady’ factory
This has been reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing the Russian Telegram channel Astra, local public groups and Andriy Bocharov, the governor of the Volgograd Region.
The public groups reported a fire on the company’s premises
According to Astra, following the night-time attack, eyewitnesses posted footage of the fire in Volgograd. A missile alert was issued in the region, and Rosaviatsiya temporarily restricted operations at the local airport.
According to Russian public groups, the ‘Titan-Barikady’ plant – one of the key enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex – may have been hit. The plant manufactures launchers, artillery systems and components for the ‘Iskander-M’, ‘Yars’ and ‘Topol-M’ missile systems.
Denis Shtilerman, co-founder of the defence company Fire Point, also published a video of the explosions in Volgograd.
Later, Astra, citing its own OSINT analysis, stated that the smoke following the attack rose specifically above the site of the ‘Titan-Barricades’ factory. There is currently no official confirmation of this information.
Russian authorities have confirmed the attack
Andrei Bocharov, Governor of the Volgograd Region, confirmed that the region had come under attack during the night. According to him, production facilities at one of the enterprises in the Krasnooktyabrsky District of Volgograd were damaged.
He also stated that the fire had been quickly brought under control.
