According to the MP, official investigations and inquiries are currently underway to establish all the circumstances surrounding the situation in the 425th Separate Assault Regiment ‘Skelya’.
At the same time, he emphasised that he sees no grounds for personnel decisions regarding the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“At present, he is performing his duties and tasks very effectively in liberating our territory and repelling the enemy. I believe there are certainly no grounds for dismissing the Commander-in-Chief,” Venislavskyi stated.
What is known about the situation
According to the MP, certain facts relating to the scandal surrounding the 425th Separate Assault Regiment ‘Skelya’ are currently being investigated by law enforcement agencies. A final assessment of any possible violations will be provided once all necessary investigations have been completed. Venislavskyi emphasised that the progress of these investigations does not constitute grounds for the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As previously reported by The Public, journalists published an investigation into the situation at the 425th Separate Assault Regiment ‘Skelya’. The report stated that between late 2025 and spring 2026, at least 26 non-combat deaths were recorded among the unit’s recruits. Following the publication, the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) launched a pre-trial investigation, whilst the Office of the Military Ombudsman and other authorised bodies are also conducting inquiries. The regiment commander has been suspended from duty pending the investigation.
