Over the past 24 hours, 253 combat engagements were recorded on the front line. Russian forces continued to carry out heavy shelling and air strikes on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that, as of the morning of 22 May, Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has been ongoing for 1,549 days.

According to the command, 253 combat engagements were recorded on the front line over the past 24 hours.

Russian troops launched one missile strike using a single missile and carried out 95 air strikes, during which they dropped 288 guided aerial bombs.

In addition, the Russian army deployed 9,655 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,285 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas. Of these, 16 were carried out using multiple launch rocket systems.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces and artillery struck 12 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated and three drone control centres.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 52 assaults by Russian troops. Fighting continued in the areas of Zatyshka, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Kam’yanka, Serhiivka, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, Novopidhorodne, Bilytske, Shevchenko and Myrne.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the occupiers carried out 25 attacks in the areas of Ivanopil, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Vilne, Toretsk, Rusyn Yar, Stepanivka, and in the direction of Kostiantynivka and Zolotyi Kolodiaz.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces carried out 28 attacks in the direction of Novozaporizhzhia, Dobropillia, Rybne, Zlagoda, Zaliznychne, Tsvitkove, Vozdvizhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Huliaipole and Charivne.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, 10 attacks were recorded near Lyman, Vilcha, Synelnykove, Vovchanskiy Khutir, and towards Izbytske.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops launched six attacks towards Kurylivka, Kivsharivka, Novoplatonivka, Novoosynove and Hlushevka.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attempted seven times to breach Ukrainian defences near Zarichne, Serednye, and in the direction of Lyman and Shyikivka.

In the Sloviansk direction, four assaults were recorded towards Rai Oleksandrivka, Piskunivka and in the Riznykivka area.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops attacked in the area of Minkivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched seven attacks in the area of Ternove and in the direction of Verbove, Dobropillia and Kalynivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled one attempt by Russian troops to advance in the area of Shcherbakiv.

In the Prydniprovsk direction, the enemy launched three attacks in the direction of Antonivsky Bridge.

In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, the Russian army carried out three air strikes using seven guided bombs and conducted 80 shelling attacks.

The General Staff also reported that no signs of Russian troops forming offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya sectors.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army suffered losses of 880 personnel. Ukrainian forces also destroyed one tank, three armoured fighting vehicles, 57 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, one air defence system, four ground-based robotic systems, 1,872 drones and 135 vehicles.
