On the night of 2 June, a fire broke out at the Ilsk oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai following a drone attack. The regional emergency response centre confirmed the fire.

On the night of 2 June, residents of the Krasnodar Krai reported numerous explosions and a fire. Subsequently, monitoring Telegram channels published eyewitness footage of the attack on the Ilsk oil refinery.

The regional operational headquarters later confirmed the fire.

Videos showing heavy smoke and a fire on the plant’s premises also circulated online. Local residents reported a series of explosions on social media prior to the fire breaking out.

The Ilsky Oil Refinery is one of the leading enterprises in the oil refining industry of the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation. The total design capacity of the primary processing units is approximately 6.6 million tonnes of crude oil per year.

According to estimates by the ASTRA Telegram channel, this attack is at least the sixteenth on the Ilsk Oil Refinery since the start of the full-scale war. Previous strikes on the facility were recorded in 2023–2026.
