The shelling of Vyshneve caused the most extensive damage to residential areas since the start of the full-scale invasion
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
In total, 13 hectares of residential buildings have been damaged in Vyshneve. Given the scale of the destruction, the government will allocate funds from the reserve fund to restore damaged housing in the community.
Since last night, emergency centres have also been set up in the town, where people can receive all the necessary emergency assistance and advice on claiming compensation. Five hundred State Emergency Service rescuers and over 400 police officers are working at the scene.
As a reminder, on the night of 6 July, Russian forces struck the Kyiv region. Due to the risk of secondary detonation of explosive devices, over 600 people were evacuated from Vyshneve, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Twenty-one casualties are currently in hospital. The death toll in the town has risen to five.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged that the situation in the town is “serious” and instructed the Security Service and intelligence agencies to “thoroughly investigate what happened in Vyshneve”.
