The Ukrainian Armed Forces are making gains on two fronts – ISW
This is stated in the ISW report.
Where the Ukrainian Armed Forces have made advances
In the Borivka sector, Ukrainian units made local advances and repelled enemy counter-attacks.
Meanwhile, in the Kupiansk area, the Russians continue to attempt infiltration in small groups from both banks of the Oskol River, but without significant results.
The enemy command is forced to redeploy rear and non-combat units to make up for losses in assault operations.
Analysts have noted the success of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kostyantynivka–Druzhkivka tactical zone.
Ukrainian forces are holding their positions and striking command posts and concentrations of enemy personnel in areas up to 10 kilometres from the line of contact. The enemy is attempting to operate in small groups within urban areas, but is facing counter-attacks and drone strikes.
The overall situation on the front
In most other sectors – Lyman, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, Zaporizhzhia – the Russians are attacking, but without any confirmed advances.
There is no active ground fighting in the Kherson region, but Ukrainian forces have struck the Chongar Bridge between occupied Kherson and Crimea.
Due to the damage, traffic across the crossing has been temporarily restricted. The bridge is used to supply ammunition and fuel.
As a reminder, in May, the Defence Forces liberated 100 square kilometres more than they lost.
Since the start of the year, the total area of liberated territory has exceeded 600 square kilometres, according to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that June and July could prove decisive in the war. According to him, decisions at the EU, G7 and NATO summits could influence the diplomatic track and the terms of a possible ceasefire.
