The weather in Ukraine in June 2026: will a heatwave hit Ukraine?
The weather in June 2026
In June, the average air temperature in Ukraine is set to exceed the long-term climate average by at least one and a half degrees.

The weather forecast was issued by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.

According to forecasters, the average monthly temperature in June 2026 is set to remain steady at 19–23 degrees Celsius.

It will be slightly cooler in the country’s mountainous regions, somewhere between 16–20 degrees.

As for rainfall, between 49 and 90 millimetres of rain is expected for the first month of summer, with the Carpathians traditionally receiving more — approximately 117–171 mm.

As a reminder, according to the forecast by meteorologist Vira Balabukh, the average air temperature in Ukraine this summer is expected to be 1–2 degrees higher than the climatic norm. At the same time, the warming will be unevenly distributed. The most noticeable temperature anomalies and heatwaves will occur in the northern and north-eastern regions of the country.

The overall outlook for the season promises to be moderate. Thanks to shifts in atmospheric patterns, prolonged periods of stifling heat will alternate with cooler days, and rainfall across the country will generally remain within normal limits.
