On Sunday, 28 June, hot weather will prevail across Ukraine. In most regions, daytime temperatures will range from +29 to +35°, whilst in a number of regions there may be brief showers and thunderstorms

This has been reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.

Forecasters predict the highest temperatures in the western, southern and parts of the central regions — up to +35°. It will be slightly cooler in the east of the country: +24...+29° during the day and +15...+20° at night.

Short-lived showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Volyn, Rivne, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson regions. No significant rainfall is forecast for the rest of Ukraine.

In Kyiv, there will be variable cloud cover with no significant rainfall. Night-time temperatures will range from +19 to +21°, and daytime temperatures from +31 to +33°.

Forecasters are also warning of an extreme (class 5) fire danger level. On 28 June, this is expected in the Volyn, Rivne, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson regions. The State Emergency Service and the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre are urging the public to be particularly careful with open fires in the countryside.
