On Father’s Day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Ukrainian fathers and emphasised their special role during the war

The head of state wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

What Zelenskyy said on Father’s Day

The President noted that the image of a father is always associated with protection and a sense of security, but for Ukrainians during the war, these words have taken on an even deeper meaning.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian fathers today are defending not only their own families, but also their children’s right to a peaceful future.

“A father is about protection and safety. And today this has taken on an even deeper meaning, because Ukrainian fathers are defending not only their children, but also the very possibility of a safe future,” the President wrote.

The President thanked Ukrainian fathers

Zelenskyy emphasised that being a father in Ukraine today is a demonstration of exceptional courage and love. He thanked all the fathers who are defending Ukraine, looking after their families, supporting their children and working every day for the sake of the country’s future. The President expressed his hope that every Ukrainian family would have what we are currently fighting for — a peaceful and secure future.
