The "Zhivchik" drink has found itself at the centre of a typeface scandal
Yevgen Sadko wrote about this on his Facebook page.
The founder of Rentafont has contacted the manufacturer
According to him, the use of Russian fonts in the design of Ukrainian products is inappropriate, especially in the context of a full-scale war.
“By choosing a Russian font for a Ukrainian product, even accidentally, you are not only bypassing the Ukrainian market, where there are many similar fonts, but you may also give the legendary Ukrainian drink a Russian military flavour,” he wrote.
Sadko also called on the manufacturer to review the product design and stop using the font, which he associates with Russia.
Social media is buzzing about the packaging design
Following the publication of the post, a discussion unfolded on social media regarding the font’s origin and the use of Russian design products by Ukrainian companies. At the time of publication, representatives of the ‘Zhyvchik’ brand had not publicly commented on the remarks made by the founder of Rentafont.
