Trilateral peace talks are ‘on hold’, prisoner exchanges will continue — Peskov
Dmitry Peskov, press secretary to the Russian leader
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary to the Russian leader, stated that the trilateral group—comprising Ukraine, the US and Russia—is currently “on hold” with regard to peace talks. The parties will continue to liaise regarding prisoner exchanges.

He said this in an interview with the Russian newspaper *Izvestia*.

According to him, the trilateral peace group is operating separately from the bilateral group comprising Russia and the United States on economic cooperation.

“The trilateral group is on hold,” said Peskov.

He added that Russia plans to continue engaging with Ukraine regarding new prisoner exchanges and that “work in this area will definitely continue”.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the venue and timing of the next trilateral talks remain unknown due to differing positions between the US and Russia — US delegates do not wish to leave American territory due to the threat of hostilities in the Middle East, whilst Russian representatives refuse to hold talks in the US.

According to him, Ukraine agreed to send a delegation to Miami or Washington, but the Russians refused to meet in the US and proposed Turkey or Switzerland. The Americans have already declined this proposal.
