Protesters demanded that the draft law be revised
According to the publication, nearly a hundred people gathered for the protest. The protesters called on the authorities to review the provisions of the draft law and to revise the document to take public demands into account. The protesters held placards reading: “The new Civil Code is a path to Russia”, “You vote – we live with it!” and “The Middle Ages are long gone”. Some participants came to the rally carrying LGBT symbols. They stated that, in their view, the new Civil Code does not improve the situation of the LGBT community but, on the contrary, may restrict the rights of certain groups of citizens.
